Growing up in San Diego close to the Mexican border, the “Virgin de guadalupe” has played a major roll in my upbringing and in my introduction to tattooing. I’ve tattooed so many M ary’s in my 20 years of tattooing, and the design has become one of my favorite tattoo images. Although I am not catholic I have two Virgin Mary tattoos on me, and I have a love and respect for the image. I’ve been painting a lot of Mary’s during this quarantine so I was inspired to make a shirt. The front pocket hit “with Safety & Respect” is based on a basic interpretation of the definition of C/S “Con Safos” a slang term.
