MAS Deep Pour Casting Epoxy is a 100% solids, 3:1 system built for deep pours — river tables, encapsulations, and thick castings that need a crystal-clear, glass-like finish. Built for deep pours This two-component, 3:1 by volume system cures in 24–36 hours at 70°F to a clear, glass-like finish that resists scratching and yellowing. An extended gel time reduces exotherm and improves air release, making it suited to thicker pours than a standard casting resin. Pour depth and step pouring We recommend a maximum pour depth of 1–2 inches per layer. For larger voids or thicker pours, step-pour in 1-inch layers, always letting the previous pour cool past its peak exotherm before adding the next. For the best finish, let each pour cure, lightly sand the surface, and wipe it clean before applying the next layer. Temperature Ideal working temperature is 65–80°F. Don't pour in conditions above 80°F — higher temperatures speed up the cure and can cause discolouration, shrinkage, or cracking. Preparing your wood Wood must be completely dry before pouring. We recommend sealing any wood or porous surfaces first — our Deep Penetrating Epoxy Sealer works well for this, reducing the risk of air bubbles and foaming as the casting cures. Questions?
