THE MASK Black and white pen line artwork This piece has a lot of deep meaning. The small android type of figure at the front is meant to represent me, or you or us, as humans. He is chained and dragging along a large, grotesque, many faced creature. The faces show a range of emotions taking place simultaneously and although the human is wearing a mask of happiness, the figure that he is dragging behind represents his emotions and he is carrying that with him throughout his walk of life. The creature is also holding a mask to its face in an effort to appear happy. Emotions can be ugly, but they are a part of us, even if we don’t show them or try to mask them. Show more
