The revered Elsa Tierney joins us on Friday 22 March as our next MatserMaker guest! 🌟What is our MasterMaker Series?These monthly events embody what FORGE stands for: exc eptional design, the preservation of skills, and the sharing of knowledge. They are limited to 10 people for a unique & intimate, exclusive experience with a highly skilled & accomplished designer. During 5 captivating hours, you’ll engage in a talk, witness a live demonstration, and partake in a hands-on workshop, all guided by the MasterMakers themselves. The event concludes with a relaxed chat and mingle over food & wine. Limited places available! Booking essential. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity! Price is per person. What will I make? This is a wonderful opportunity to explore different wax techniques with an expert. Feel free to bring projects that you are working on and design ideas that you would like to explore with Elsa's guidance. What will happen on the day? During this in person event Elsa will bring a wealth of in-depth knowledge, skill and passion. During the talk, she’ll share insights into her journey, discoveries, and achievements, including writing and publishing her book Art of Wax. Signed copies will be available to buy! Demonstrations will include working with sheet wax, injection wax, hard waxes and wax wire. Skills will include carving techniques and tips, melting with heat pen, texturing with files, fixing hard waxes with heat pen, making collections using injection waxes, recycling wax, as well as details on essential tools required. Following the demo, you’ll practice these various techniques that Elsa adopts in her work. Feel free to bring projects and design ideas you’d like to explore. The experience will round off relaxing with Elsa over wine and delicious sushi from our neighbours Mugen. What skills do I need? Difficulty Level: EASY Some basic understanding of jewellery making is helpful but to essential. What should I bring? - Everything you need will be provided - Feel free to bring projects or design ideas you would like to explore, but this is not essential. - Reading glasses (if you need them!) What should I wear? Clothes: Casual and not too precious as they may get a bit dusty or damaged. Avoid long, loose fitting sleeves and anything that might catch or get caught whilst you are working.
