The Matakana Essentials collection is 100% natural, New Zealand made and safe for the whole family, created with carefully selected bioactive native ingredients traditionally valued for their soothing, nourishing and restorative properties. Matakana Essentials was born from maker Kym Bracewell's deep appreciation for harnessing the power of botanicals and the native flora of Matakana — a place where nature and lifestyle are deeply connected. Of Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāi Te Rangi, and European descent, Kym was inspired by the richness of her heritage. This foundation sparked a desire to create purposeful home and body products that honour indigenous knowledge and support modern wellbeing. These products are gentle enough for everyday use while still offering genuine benefits for the skin. The Hand & Body Wash and Hand & Body Moisturiser are pH balanced and designed to cleanse, hydrate, nourish and protect without unnecessary nasties. The signature fresh citrus fragrance runs through the collection. It is clean, refined and particularly versatile for the home, everyday use and gifting. A large part of the Matakana Essentials story is the connection between traditional knowledge and modern product development — using New Zealand botanicals for both their heritage and the benefits they bring. Guided by tradition, perfected by science.
