We strive to keep this matcha as fresh as possible by having it milled and shipped most months of the year! Organic matcha is relatively unpopular, but it was essential to us that we share a matcha which meets these standards. Pesticides and chemical fertilizers are very common in the production of modern matcha and they are necessary to produce the almost unnaturally vibrant green color and highly concentrated flavors found in many popular matchas on the market. It's important to emphasize that with powdered teas, you are not just drinking an infusion of the leaves, you are literally ingesting the entirety of the plant material. Therefore we feel it is essential that these teas be naturally cultivated and free from agrochemicals. While this matcha may not be as flashy, it is a lovely natural organic tea with balanced energy and a clean environmental footprint.
