Pour hot water into your bowl to warm it, then discard the water. Add matcha. Place 2 scoops (about 2g) of ceremonial matcha into the bowl. Pour hot water. Add approximately 70ml of hot water (around 70–80°C). Whisk until frothy. Whisk briskly in a quick "W" motion until a smooth, fine foam forms. Enjoy immediately. Sip, savour, and enjoy your freshly whisked matcha. Frequently Asked Questions Can I mix and match — a different chasen colour with a different bowl? Yes — the Whisk Holder colour (Ryokucha or Aozora) and the Chawan are selected independently, so any combination is available. Will my bowl look exactly like the photo? Very close, but not identical — natural variation in glaze and finish is part of the handcraft. If a particular colour or pattern is essential to you, feel free to email us at [email protected] before ordering and we're happy to help. Is this suitable for a complete beginner? Yes — this is our most popular starting point, and every kit includes the same brewing steps shown above.
