We breed our queens from our best selected colonies. These are colonies that have a low tendency to swarm, a calm temperament and produce a good quantity of honey. They are bred in Devon and are suited to the British climate. Our queens are open mated and are usually available from late May until September (weather dependent). Queens ordered now will be sent out as they become available from late May. Queens will be posted on a first come first served basis marked with this year's color and in a travel cage with fondant and attendants. Queens can be posted standard or express delivery. Standard delivery is Royal Mail 1st class signed for service .We are not responsible for the delays in Royal Mail. We were told at post office that 1st class service can take two to three working days at the moment. Express delivery is Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm service (tracked). Queens purchased with express delivery will still be posted on Tuesdays unless agreed prior. We do recommend to use special delivery guaranteed by 1 pm. Please note single queen can not start a colony. You will need to introduce your queen to a nucleus of bees or to an existing colony.
