Easily measure up to 3A of DC current with the MAX471 3A current sensor module from PMD Way, with free delivery. This is a high-side device which can be used on (and powered from) voltages between 3 and 36V DC. The current measured it output as 1V per A, which can easily be measured by an ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) of a development board such as an Arduino, AVR, PIC etc. For example, if you have an AVR 10-bit ADC running on a 5V system, you can measure down to (5/1023) 0.00489V ... so 1V/A gives us 4.89mA per division. Connection is simple: GND and OUT to GND and ADC pin respectively power supply (-) to GND power supply (+) to RS+ load (-) to GND load (+) to RS- Inline header pins and a screw terminal block are provided but not soldered to the board. Specifications: operating voltage - 3~36V DC sensitivity - 1V/A board measures 19.5 x 20.3mm More information: download MAX471 data sheet (.pdf) Don't forget to check out our full range of current sensor breakout boards if this doesn't meet your needs.
