Optimizing make-up air performance requires precise thermal feedback, and the Maxitrol TS114A is the industry standard for Series 14 Selectra systems. This discharge air temperature sensor is specifically calibrated for a range of 80-130 degrees F, providing the high-accuracy resistance signaling necessary for seamless electronic gas flame modulation. Designed to be housed within a Maxitrol mixing tube, the TS114A works in tandem with the amplifier and modulator-regulator valves to maintain stable discharge temperatures by providing instantaneous response to thermal fluctuations. For contractors and technicians, ensuring a match between the TS114A sensor and the TD114A remote selector is critical for circuit compatibility and system stability. Built for the rigors of direct-fired heating equipment, this sensor eliminates the lag associated with mechanical dampers, delivering the consistent climate control required in commercial and industrial make-up air applications. Whether you are performing a retrofit or a new installation, this authentic Maxitrol replacement part ensures your system operates at peak efficiency. Key Benefits Precise Calibration: Optimized for the 80-130°F temperature range, ensuring accurate feedback for Series 14 modulation. Direct Compatibility: Engineered for use with Maxitrol mixing tubes (MT1 models) and TD114A selectors. Rapid Response: Supports instantaneous gas flow adjustment to prevent temperature hunting in make-up air systems. Rugged Build: Constructed to withstand the high-vibration and high-flow environments of direct-fired units. Standardized Integration: Features simple screw-terminal connections for fast wiring to Maxitrol amplifiers. Common Questions How do I test the Maxitrol TS114A for accuracy? Technicians should measure the resistance across the sensor terminals; it typically exhibits approximately 10,000 ohms at 77°F, with resistance decreasing as the temperature at the sensor increases. Can I use this sensor with a 55-90°F selector? No, the Maxitrol TS114A must be paired with components that share the same suffix and temperature range. Using it with a TD114 (55-90°F) will result in incorrect modulation and potential system lockout. Where should the sensor and mixing tube be installed? The assembly must be installed directly in the discharge air stream, downstream from the burner and blower, to capture a representative average of the delivered air temperature.
