The hole diameter should be a minimum of 200mm wide, but you should increase the width if the ground is soft. Place a thin layer of gravel in the bottom of the hole. Align the post centrally in the hole ensuring the lock and mounting assembly clears the surface; this is easily adjusted by adding or removing gravel. Pour cement into the hole around the ground spigot, check post is vertical and brace accordingly until set.
