The MUTEC MC8 is a high performance multichannel digital audio interface and sampling rate converter designed to convert up to eight channels from AES3 to AES3id. In addition to re liable format conversion, it can also operate as a signal splitter or distributor, allowing a single input to be distributed across multiple outputs or two independent signals to be split across output pairs. Built around an advanced FPGA platform, the MC8 supports digital audio signals from 32 kHz to 192 kHz, making it a versatile solution for professional recording studios, broadcast facilities, live production systems, and installation environments. The MC8 features integrated sampling rate conversion with flexible synchronization options, allowing it to lock to Word Clock, AES11, digital audio inputs, or its own low jitter internal reference clock. Its clock recovery and regeneration capabilities help maintain stable signal integrity while improving the performance of connected digital audio equipment. In SRC mode, the built in HOLD function ensures uninterrupted audio output even if an external reference signal is lost, while user settings are retained in non-volatile memory for convenient operation. Housed in a compact half rack enclosure with an international power supply, the MC8 is well suited for installations where performance, reliability, and efficient use of rack space are equally important.
