About the Basic DIY Mealworm Breeding Kit This kit is designed for anyone who wants to breed their own mealworms at home — simply, cheaply, and successfully.You’ll receive around 120 g of live mealworms, a bag of mealworm feed, and full step-by-step instructions. To set up, you’ll need: Two or more shallow tubs (ice-cream tubs, Tupperware boxes or similar). A small handful of bran or oats for bedding. A few slices of carrot or potato for moisture.
