We recommend using distilled water for prolonged use. The water reservoir is 1.7 oz. We recommend using a small funnel, eyedropper or very small stream of water to assist in filling your unit. Operated via 4 AA Batteries in the Topper and 2 AAA Batteries in the remote (Not included). IR sensor for remote is located on the bottom of the piece to allow functionality when placed on a tall tree.
