I have a good stock of old Turkish Meerschaum imported by Ed Andrew in the 60/70s. Once in a while I dip into it for a project. This Bowmaiden has been a fun project. Meerschaum of this era tends to look a little different but will patina with use normally. There is even some grain pattern to certain parts. The bow maiden is carved to resemble the sculptures on old ships bows. The shank has a briar ring and the mortise is reinforced with delrin. The tenon is a conventional push pull srtykler like all of my pipes. This one will be gorgeous will some age on it.
