Bussmann MEGA / AMG Fuses – 80A to 500A Quality circuit protection matters, especially in high-current 12V systems. We use Bussmann MEGA fuses, available from 80A through to 500A. Bussmann is one of the major names in electrical circuit protection, and these are a much better choice than unknown low-cost fuses where consistency, build quality and predictable fuse performance can vary. MEGA fuses are commonly used for protecting lithium battery systems, inverters, DC-DC chargers, power distribution systems and other high-current 12V circuits in 4WD, caravan, camper and off-grid installations. Fuse Sizing A fuse should not normally be sized to exactly match the continuous operating current of the circuit. For example, if a circuit regularly draws around 100A, a 100A MEGA fuse may run hot and could nuisance-blow depending on the operating conditions. A higher-rated fuse may be appropriate, provided it still correctly protects the cable and equipment.
