Earls Red Melon (Aromatic Red-Flesh Melon) At JX, we don’t keep our melons sitting in stock. Once we receive your order, our fruit specialist in Japan selects and orders what is best at that time, then sends it directly from Japan to Singapore. This means the variety and growing region may change depending on the season and availability. What matters to us is not choosing one particular region, but choosing a delicious Japanese melon at the right time. Each melon may be a little different, but red-fleshed melons are known for their beautiful orange flesh, rich sweetness, and plenty of juice. As the melon ripens, you’ll start to notice its sweet fragrance even before you cut it. And then, there’s that moment when the knife goes into a perfectly ripe melon. The soft sound as it cuts through. The fragrance as it opens. And all that sweet juice around the seeds. Chilled and eaten just as it is — that’s still our favourite way to enjoy it.But when you have a little more time, make a fruit sandwich with plenty of whipped cream and soft bread :) How to Tell When It’s Ready Melons continue to ripen after harvest. When yours arrives, don’t put it straight into the refrigerator. Leave it at room temperature first and look for these signs: ・Smell the melonWhen you start to notice a sweet melon fragrance, it’s getting close. ・Check the bottomGently press the base of the melon, opposite the stem. When it begins to give slightly, it should be ready to eat. ・Look at the stemAs the melon ripens, the stem will gradually begin to dry and wilt. Once it’s ready, put it in the refrigerator 2–3 hours before eating. Don’t Throw Away the Seeds — There’s Something Good Around Them. There’s plenty of sweet melon juice around the seeds.Instead of throwing them away, put the seeds and pulp through a strainer. That’s all it takes to make a small glass of 100% pure melon juice. It may only be a little, but it’s so good. ー JX AIR EXPRESS This item is part of JX Air Express.
