Some students have kindly offered their work to be critiqued by myself. My hope is that these critiques will benefit not only those of you who have tackled this scene, or anything similar, by enabling you to better understand your own work with a critical eye, in order to help you progress in the direction you wish to go. Here I take the Cockerel tutorial and we will use the core principles covered in the school to break down this painting, what works, and what needs some tweaks. While a little crude (my digital painting skills are limited), I do make adjustments over the top of student's work so you can see before and after for comparison. One final note. You do not have to agree with my decisions..ha! This is a process of evaluation, and we are playing the “what if” game. What could it look like if we tried this? Enjoy!
