Our classic members-only Explorers Club rosette, designed exclusively for The Explorers Club and hand-crafted to order. Rosettes are steeped in tradition and history. Originating i n 1802 with the Legion of Honor Award, a special designation established by Napoleon Bonaparte to recognize exemplary military service and civil merit, the original rosette was a ribbon-mount design and much larger than what is manufactured today. In 1850, the rosette was redesigned and miniaturized so that it could be worn on civilian clothing, and particularly on jacket lapels. Available to members only. Size is approximately 7/16”.
