The original sculpture was hand carving in Welsh Slate and exhibited and sold at Artefact, Chelsea Design Center. This was the first of two larger wall sculpture which Zoë made, wi th a complex geometric pattern. The name Merak is taken from a Serbian noun meaning: a feeling of bliss which comes from enjoying the simplest of pleasures. The pursuit of small daily pleasures that all add up to a feeling of fulfilment and happiness. Zoë had been focusing on this idea whilst in lockdown and creating this piece.
