Designed by the Italian designer Alex Gufler, the Merano Stool is one of the most popular contemporary designs from TON. The unique axis of the seat gives the chair contemporary ch aracter, but also allows the chair to maintain a certain traditional look. The Merano design was the Red Dot Design Award Winner in 2011. The Merano Stool is constructed in one of the original bentwood factories set up by Michael Thonet in the 1800s. The factory has been in continuous operation since its inception in 1861.
