When you see these fascinating Romanian Dragon Skin Obsidian stones, you'll understand how they got their name. The dragon connection is quite evident. They have a chatoyant silvery sheen to them so I believe they are type of silver sheen obsidian. These crystals show us that hovering over the darkness is a cloud with a "SILVER" lining. Obsidian is a very, very special stone. It is not a true mineral. It is actually a volcanic glass that forms when molten lava cools too rapidly to crystallize. It consists mostly of Silicon Dioxide. Obsidian's sharp nature made it a stone of choice in making blades and arrowheads for Stone Age cultures. Polished Obsidian was used to create the earliest mirrors. We can learn a lot about a stone's metaphysical properties by looking at it's physical properties. Being such a sharp stone, Obsidian may be a source of support in releasing attachments to things in our lives which are no longer part of who we truly are. Obsidian may be helpful in moving forward in the gentlest possible way. I suppose that is why it is often given to those who are grieving. As a naturally reflective stone, Obsidian can help us to really look at ourselves. Silver Sheen Obsidian vibrates to the number 2 and is the astrological sign of Sagittarius. Silver sheen obsidian is used for "gazing" and acts to provide information concerning the "root" of the problem or situation. The energy seems to pierce the outer layers of a problem, allowing for the heart of the problem to become evident. It also assists in producing a definition for the bases for ones path or action. It assists in bringing one "the advantage" throughout life. It can also be used as a mirror the the soul, one to stimulate seeing the self as others see you. That which is seen is not always complimentary, but can always be helpful in guiding one to realize their true self. It enhances patience and perseverance. It also produces a very strong connection between the physical and astral bodies, assuring that one may always "come home". This one is approx. 2-3/4" x 1-1/8". He is Meryl.
