Mesh Sports Lining Sports mesh, also known as athletic mesh, has tiny holes to allow breathability in sportswear, and to allow water to drain when used in swim shorts. An example o f the former might be a travel or hiking shirt with a yoke flap on the back, that has the lining under the yoke. For swim trunks, it provides support while allowing water to drain when leaving the pool. The smaller the holes, the more comfortable the fabric.
