The Metrum MQA module is available as an option and will be recognized as soon as the module is installed in its socket. The module includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA encoded audio files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. ‘MQA’ or ‘MQA Studio’ indicates that the product is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes provenance to ensure that the sound is bit-perfect and thus identical to that of the source material. ‘MQA Studio’ indicates it is playing an MQA Studio file, which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been verified by the copyright owner. For older units, please check if the unit is compatible with the date codes below. Adagio / Pavane: DAI MK IV 05-04-2017 of the digital input board and later is compatible (some digital input boards only show the date and version markings under the USB module slot). Earlier models require a new digital input board in order to accept the MQA module. Jade / Onyx: all units are compatible with the MQA module. Quad, Octave, Hex, Octave MK II, Musette, Menuet, Flint and Amethyst are not compatible. * The MQA module must detect whether or not MQA data is present before deciding how to decode the music signal. It can happen that the first second of music is muted because of this. This is not a fault, it is arranged by the MQA software in the board. Placing the MQA module is a plug and play procedure; always ground yourself to prevent static electricity as this can cause errors.
