Mexicano Engineered Oak DoorThe Mexicano Engineered Oak Door is the core Mexicano design, its slim vertical grooves running down a clean, contemporary face that suits a modern home and adds a modern touch to an older one. It is one of our modern oak internal doors and is faced in oak veneer over an engineered solid core, so the pared-back look comes with natural oak grain and warmth. The oak face is a natural veneer, so the grain shifts subtly from door to door and no two look exactly alike. It is supplied unfinished, at 35mm or 40mm thick with an 8mm trimming allowance on each edge, in a wide range of imperial and metric widths. The solid core gives a more substantial, better-insulating and stable door than a hollow core, and the oak tone sits neatly against oak skirting and architrave chosen to match. The veneer is FSC certified and the door carries a 10 year guarantee against manufacturing defects. It hangs on standard butt hinges and takes a lever handle on a tubular latch, usually on three hinges for a door of this weight. The clean Mexicano face pairs well with contemporary ironmongery, whether brushed nickel for a modern scheme or black for more contrast, which you can match from our door handles and hardware. The door is supplied unfinished, so seal every face and edge, including the top and bottom, before it goes into use, and re-treat any edge you trim as this exposes fresh oak. A suitable hardwax oil is all it needs; our door treatments cover what to use and the maintenance guide explains keeping the finish topped up.Key Product Information Core Mexicano design with slim vertical grooves down the face Oak veneer over an engineered solid core Supplied unfinished, ready to seal with a hardwax oil Available at 35mm and 40mm thick with an 8mm trimming allowance Solid core for improved strength, stability and sound insulation FSC certified veneer with a 10 year manufacturer guarantee
