Mexicano Half Light Glazed Fire DoorThe Mexicano Half Light Glazed Fire Door sets a half-height glazed light into the slim vertical grooves of the Mexicano face, borrowing light between rooms on an FD30 fire door. It is one of our modern oak internal doors, supplied unfinished so you can choose the finish. The light is fire-rated clear toughened safety glass with frosted lines that echo the Mexicano grooves. Being a genuine fire door it is not solid oak, but an oak-faced fire door built for a rating.It is built around a solid, fire-resisting core, faced with oak veneer and edged with oak lippings, which is what gives the leaf its strength, stability and fire performance while the oak face brings the grain. The oak tone sits neatly against oak skirting and architrave chosen to match, and the veneer is FSC certified with a 10 year manufacturer warranty.It is rated FD30 for up to 30 minutes of fire resistance, and only performs to that rating as part of a complete, fitted fire-door set. Hang it in a suitable fire-rated frame or lining, on three fire-rated hinges as a minimum, with intumescent strips and smoke seals fitted around the leaf, and match the handle and ironmongery from our door handles and hardware.At 44mm thick the leaf is more substantial than a standard door, and the fire-rated construction leaves only a small trimming allowance, around 5mm on each edge, so order the size closest to your opening and keep any adjustment within that margin.The door is supplied unfinished, so seal every face and edge before it goes into service, keeping oil off the glass and paying attention to any trimmed edge and the fitting cut-outs.
