To meet the acoustic goals set for the 109 PRO, Meze focused its R&D efforts on materials research, looking for the perfect balance between mass and stiffness that would maximize the sonic abilities of the headphone. That search led to the development of the 109 series Dual-Composite Diaphragm – a combination of Beryllium-coated polymer, cellulose-carbon fiber composite, and copper-zinc alloy. This brand new 50mm dynamic driver, assembled and tuned with ultimate precision, allowed us to push the boundaries of speed, accuracy, and dynamic range. A carbon fiber headband with a genuine leather headrest has been integrated into the frame for an ultra-light feel and maximum durability. Raw materials for various aspects of the build were all chosen not just for the exciting sensory experience their raw texture provides but also for comfort and durability.
