A single-blade mezzaluna for chopping herbs, garlic, onions, chillies, nuts and chocolate. The 250mm curved stainless steel blade covers more ground per stroke than the smaller version, making it better suited to larger prep quantities and bigger chopping boards. Made in Italy by Eppicotispai, with beechwood handles. Design and Construction The blade is 250mm wide, curved to allow a natural rocking motion from the wrist. Both handles are turned beechwood, giving a secure grip on either side of the blade. The stainless steel blade is food-grade and holds its edge well with normal use and proper care. 250mm stainless steel blade Turned beechwood handles Single blade Made in Italy by Eppicotispai What It's For The mezzaluna, meaning "half moon" in Italian, is the traditional tool for fine chopping in Italian kitchens. The rocking motion gives more control than a standard knife for tasks like mincing garlic to a paste, finely chopping fresh herbs, or breaking down nuts and chocolate. The 250mm blade suits larger quantities and bigger boards, covering significantly more surface per stroke than the 145mm version. For smaller everyday tasks, the 145mm small mezzaluna is more manageable. For finer results in less time, the double blade version cuts twice per pass.
