Michigan Synth Works OS-x0x Open Source Processor The Michigan Synth Works OS-x0x is an open-source replacement processor designed to extend the functionality and service life of classic Roland x0x instruments. Built as a drop-in replacement for the original processor used in machines such as the TB-303 and TR-606, it provides a modern hardware platform capable of running actively developed open-source firmware while maintaining the hands-on workflow of the original instruments. Each processor is supplied flashed with the latest compatible firmware and includes a MIDI jack, making it a practical upgrade for users looking to add modern control and sequencing capabilities to vintage hardware. The TB-303 implementation runs the open-source OS-303 firmware and is also compatible with the expanded SuperOS303 platform, which can provide additional editing, librarian and performance features. Michigan Synth Works currently offers implementations for the TB-303 and TR-606, with TR-808 support under development.
