Just to list an example of a few similar designs on Rebrickable: 501st productions, Tomahawk456, ZeroFoxGiven and BuilderFamily (on YouTube) have very similar designs by using 2x4 wedge plates for the hexagonal shape of the TIE Fighter's wings.I used the same wedge plates for my micro design but a applied different approach to attach the wings to the main craft. I love using the 1x1 round studded brick in my builds and by combining it with the 2x2 studded round tile I was able to create a different kind of connection on the surface of the wings. This piece also allows you to adjust the distance of the wings from the main craft. You can slide them a bit outward to make the craft appear wider. Since the wedge plates are positioned inwards, this gave me a choice of putting inverted 2x2 round plates on the outside to hold the structure of the wings properly.
