The Old Bones Mini-PAF are a smaller version of a PAF style humbuckers, but owing to their smaller dimensions they have sound all of their own. As they sample a smaller area of the strings movement than a typical humbucker, they tend to have a brighter and cleaner sound. The Mini-PAFs have been made with AlNiCo 2 (A2) bar magnets and Formvar wire. The A2 magnets tend to give a vintage tone, producing a slightly muted bottom end with full mids and a full top end and good overall sustain due to lower string pull. Mixed with the cleaner and brighter characteristics of mini-humbuckers you should have a wide range of tones covering jazz, blues and classic rock styles perfectly. Show more
