Hot on the heels of the Can’t Stop It reissue, Efficient Space have repressed the killer Midnite Spares comp, keeping another great comp of vital Australian DIY music in print! Where the Can’t Stop It compilations cover a vein of DIY post-punk that you might have caught in the Trade Union Club, Midnite Spares covers a crop of musicians taking these precedents and technologies and melding them with nascent post-modern and contemporary art practices. Irreverent, funny, and wry, this comp covers the likes of Tsk Tsk Tsk, Maria Kozic, Whadya Want, alongside proto-God band Foot and Mouth etc etc. The intersection of the art gallery and the club (or front bar) without all the boring fluff that accompanies such a positioning in 2025! –Mitch Midnite Spares: Compiled by András and Instant Peterson by Various Artists
