This piece is inspired by rocky open waters and mighty seas. Created using a neutral palette of beige, stone and pale grey and anchored with black and charcoal tones, the depth within the piece really does suggest movement and a vastness to be contemplated. There are so many layers within the painting, built upon marks full of expression, but also with a calmness in the distance, to sooth and allow time for reflection when viewing the piece.
