An extremely unique masterpiece from the famed French custom knife maker, Milan Gravier. We have been following Milan's work for some time and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with him. We are both fans of the old French Nogent style, a more understated, svelte design than the usual full bolstered Sabatier style. Nogent knives have a rat-tail/stick tang that typically runs through the length of the handle and the end is peened to secure the handle to the blade. Milan, in his creative genius, opted to take it one step further and threaded the end of the tang and included a nut and wrench to be able to remove the handle from the blade, allowing for much easier servicing. Not only that, but Milan chose to make his own Damascus cladding for the blade and also finished the entire blade on stones with ZERO low spots, allowing for much easier service. We hope people understand how much work and skill is required to make that all The handle and matching saya are both in stunning Bog Oak, a rich and consistent black. The saya is fit with a brass pin to match the brass nut on the handle. Milan forged the wrench perfectly for the nut on the handle. The blade has a strong convexity to it, allowing for stellar food release. This is a very special and rare piece from one of the best French knife makers in the industry.
