In designing the Echolette NG-51, Mile End Effects dedicated an insane amount of time testing JFET transistors, striving to replicate the harmonic response of the old Telefunken ECC83-driven machine. Their efforts paid off, as they managed to capture that unmistakable sound by carefully selecting JFETs that operate in a precise range and feeding them a higher internal voltage than a standard 9V power supply can provide. This ingenious design offers an absurd volume boost and headroom akin to a tube running at high plate voltage! Additionally, a toggle on the top of the pedal allows you to switch to the lower headroom 9V internal voltage if desired.
