Milk Lactone (so-called as it is really an acid), is an intriguing material which, while clearly milky, exhibits an unusual but rather natural green quality. A hint of cheese and floralcy completes it. Use this to add a peach-skin effect to a fruity base or to enhance a lovely Gardenia base such as our Gardenia J. Ellis. This fine aroma chemical should not be confused with the product sold by some vendors as Milk Lactone Super or Milk Lactone (Mixture) which is really just a base built around Delta Dodecalactone. Milk Lactone blends with all the other lactones as well as green chemicals Stemone, Triplal, and Liffarome. This also finds use as an extender for rose absolute when combined with Phenoxanol.
