Unsigned charcoal drawing. Duxbury would constantly be sketching scenes around him. Even when he was in hospital after hip replacements, he could be seen sketching the hustle and b ustle of the ward in his sketchbook. Finding inspiration from his working class childhood, miners, mill workers and tenement residents feature throughout his paintings and prints. This influence found him working alongside artists such as Derrick Greaves and Edward Middleditch in the Kitchen Sink School in the 1950s. Show more
