Millet, Foxtail Setaria italica (100 days) Productive, warm-season grass that yields heavy seed heads with up to an ounce of grain each. Millet’s small shiny seeds are the only alk alizing grain commonly eaten. A nice alternative to rice and can be used sparingly as a wheat substitute in baking. Must be hulled before eating.
