I obtained this piece from Bill Larson, who purchased the specimen in Mogok nearly 20 years ago, and it was a part of my private collection for years. It is one of the largest Hambergite crystals I've seen from the Palelni Mine, even though it's not a complete crystal. It reminds me of similar Hambergites from Afghanistan with the thick blocky form and distinct twinning on the {110} faces. The piece ranges from white and virtually opaque to colorless and WATER-CLEAR in areas, which is noteworthy for the locality, as very few crystals from this locality are gemmy. The crystal is terminated, so it's not a broken "chunk", but please be aware that it does have nicks and broken edges, so it's not a complete crystal either. It's still a very worthwhile piece to add to any collection of gem minerals or species from Myanmar, as only a handful were ever found in this size. Ex – Brian Kosnar Collection Specimen #BURMA22120
