The “Copper Country” of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is undeniably one the most substantial mineral deposits in the western hemisphere. In its heyday, the area was the world's g reatest producer of native Copper, and is best known not only for producing superb, crystallized examples but large display specimens to boot! Here we have a very dramatic, impressive, showy display piece featuring arborescent, or dendritic, growths of crystallized Copper flaring out like a large piece of metallic, branching fire coral. It is essentially crystallized all the way around, although crude in many areas. The classic patina that is characteristically seen in the top specimens from this area is clearly exhibited in this eye-catching beauty.
