Linarite is a well-known lead copper sulfate, and the Grand Reef Mine is one of the classic localities for the species. Typically, Linarite is found as small to microscopic azure b lue crystals, either tabular or elongated, in clusters or as crusts. This piece features a good sized, beautiful, lustrous, electric royal-blue, crystal group of Linarite measuring a whopping 2.1 cm on Quartz and host rock matrix. You don't see many Linarite crystals over 1 cm, let alone 2 cm, so this is a very impressive piece, from one of the most famous localities for the species. There's a bit of roughness around the periphery, but the overall quality (luster, sharpness, color) is excellent for the species and the locality. If you've ever wanted to get your hands on a good Linarite from the Grand Reef Mine, this is a wonderful opportunity to get one for a good price.
