Some of the finest quality crystals of Sapphire in the world are those from various localities in Sri Lanka. The combination of excellent sharp, euhedral crystals along with a beautiful range of colors puts them in the upper tiers for Sapphire crystals from anywhere. This piece is a fine quality, very sharp (not rounded or water worn), rather lustrous, well-formed, euhedral, hexagonal, striated, doubly terminated "floater" crystal with a lovely blue color and good internal gemminess. While the majority of the crystal is blue in color, there are some zones of yellow and golden-brown colors that can be seen as well. I love the tapered form and "stepped" growth along the length of the crystal. No major damage anywhere. If you collect gem crystals, thumbnails or you've always wanted a really nice Sapphire for your collection, don't pass this one up. The crystal weighs 12.85 carats Specimen # WWMIX112204
