Mindscape II is part of Stella Chang’s Mindscape series, first debuted at The Other Art Fair Brooklyn in June 2022. This body of work reimagines portraiture as a window into the in terior world of thought, emotion, and consciousness rather than outward likeness. Using a Chinese watercolor technique, the composition intentionally preserves areas of open space that function as visual portals, inviting the viewer to enter the work. Within this interior landscape, marble-like resin gel striations and layered forms guide the eye through shifting fields of color and abstraction. The experience unfolds as a slow, meditative journey, encouraging reflection and a deeper connection to one’s own internal states.
