Made from solid reclaimed poplar wood, our black lacquer sideboard has a simple, clean style. This is due to the two doors being set centrally which are a feature of furniture from Qinghai province in western China. The spaces behind the fixed panels either side of the doors are accessible, and the cabinet has a single removable shelf inside. Three drawers at the top provide extra storage and make this piece ideal as a modern day dining room sideboard. Drawers were quite rare in early Chinese cabinets so this piece is a more contemporary version of a classic Ming design and finished with antiqued brass hardware. NB. Selected interior scenes were created using AI-generated renderings to illustrate how this unit may appear in a styled setting. Images on a white background show the actual cabinet.
