Fujiya Sakuma (b. 1963) The award-winning potter Sakuma has been the head of the Mashiko Porcelain Association since 2005. His grandfather, Totaro Sakuma (1900-1976), worked with the world-famous potter Shoji Hamada to develop the Mingei (‘People’s Art’) movement in Mashiko. Sakuma has become famous for his particular Mingei style and elegant colour palette.
