The Mini M.U.L.E. is CamelBak's hydration pack for kids: 1.5 litres of water plus room for a snack and a bike tool, with grown-up features scaled down so a child can manage it themselves. Who it's for Kids old enough to want their own gear and to stop asking you for the water bottle. This is a proper pack scaled down rather than a toy - the same Crux reservoir as the adult packs, a bike tool organiser pocket, and room for a jacket and snacks. The practical effect is that a child drinks more, because a bite valve over the shoulder is something they will use and a bottle in your pack is not. Capacity and fit 1.5 litres of water and 3.5 litres of storage, in a body 36 cm tall, 19 cm wide and 15 cm deep. That is a jacket, a snack, spare gloves and their own water - enough that they are carrying their own day rather than symbolically carrying a bag. Reflective strips and a safety whistle are built in, which is the detail that makes this an easy yes for a parent: they are easier to spot on the trail, and they have a way to call out if they get ahead. Drinking and refilling The Crux reservoir is CamelBak's current design, delivering more water per bite than the older ones, with a wide fill opening that makes filling and drying it straightforward. That matters more on a kid's pack than an adult's, because the person responsible for cleaning it is you. Cleaning and mould This is what ends most reservoirs, and it is entirely preventable. Empty it after every ride and dry it properly rather than putting it away damp - prop it open so air gets right through. If you take one habit from this page, take that one.
