Lubrication - The main shaft bearings need periodic lubrication. Half a drop of oil on each end of the main shaft is sufficient. Use high quality synthetic or semi synthetic oil in the 20W viscosity range WITHOUT SULPHUR BASED EXTREME PRESSURE ADDATIVES as these are corrosive to the phosphor bronze bushes of the main shaft. Slowly pull and twist the shaft backwards and forwards to distribute the oil on the working portion of the shaft. Then wipe away the excess that will accumulate on the foot and the handle. Show more
