After reinventing the box nearly 10 years ago with the Stacked Shelving System, JDS Architects and Muuto have revitalised and improved the design in 2018 with Stacked 2.0. Although copied countless times Stacked has remained the best and most versatile collection of wooden storage boxes available. With Stacked 2.0 the production has been moved to Europe and with it many quality improvements: The Ash veneer is now replaced with an Oak veneer to provide greater consistency from box to box and the walls of Stacked are truer/straighter than before. The finish for painted modules is more matt and more durable, keeping Stacked looking at its best. On the reverse side, the wall mounting brackets have changed from metal to a soft wood split batten instead. Lastly the packaging design has improved, making Stacked easier to safely transport and now very presentable as a gift. Mini Stacked 2.0 is the smaller cousin of Stacked and is best suited as a wall-mounted shelving system, as each one has a backboard. It could provide the perfect place for your kitchen cookery books, a bathroom tidy or a dwelling for your favourite display objects. The options are literally endless. JDS Architects on the design: "How to be specific and generic altogether? Shelving systems have a tendency to achieve one concern but never both. We decided to dimension shelving units based on the generic measurements of things to store and display while allowing for them to be combined according to specific needs and desire...the result can be at times a random stack of boxes or a coordinated grid of efficient storage...or both!" Every Mini-Stacked module comes with a single matching clip (apart from oak which comes with a white clip) and a wall bracket. The shelves can be free standing or wall mounted. Extra clips are available in sets of 5 in white, light grey, grey and dusty green and midnight blue.
