At first, Mini Taiwan moss was called Taiwan moss and then it was confirmed by Professor Benito C. Tan from Singapore that its exact scientific name is Taxiphyllum alternans. Mini Taiwan Moss grows best in low to moderate lighting conditions, making it an ideal choice for low-tech to moderate-tech aquariums. It thrives in slightly acidic to neutral water with temperatures ranging from 68°F to 78°F (20°C to 25°C). This moss can be attached to rocks, driftwood, or substrates with the help of aquarium-safe thread or glue, and once established, it grows slowly but steadily, providing excellent coverage over time. Mini Taiwan Moss is relatively easy to care for, requiring minimal maintenance beyond occasional trimming to control its growth.
