How It's Unique Minn Kota Engine mount motors are unique as the motor attaches to the cavitation plate of your existing outboard engine, rather than the bow or transom of your boat. This unique motor is ideal for dual-purpose boats, or in scenarios where mounting a traditional trolling motor is not possible. The motor includes a wired remote that controls prop speed and direction (forward or reverse), while the motor is steered with your boat's existing steering wheel. Available in thrust levels up to 160 lbs, Minn Kota engine mount motors are a good fit for all sizes of boats. Be sure to look over the mounting specs of the Engine Mount motor to be sure it is compatible with your outboard motor. Split Mounting Details: Mounting an engine mount trolling motor requires drilling into the cavitation plate of your outboard engine.
